Role Summary

The Manager of Commercial Portfolio Strategy & Analytics is responsible for driving commercial decision support, portfolio performance management, and opportunity evaluation across StandardAero’s Enterprise Asset Management business. This role acts as the analytical and operational backbone of the commercial organization, ensuring disciplined pipeline governance, rigorous bid evaluation, and standardized financial modeling for asset opportunities. The position develops data-driven tools and processes to improve commercial efficiency, support strategic decision-making, and maximize lifecycle value across the company’s asset portfolio.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Pipeline Governance & Opportunity Management: Maintain oversight of the commercial opportunity pipeline, ensuring disciplined stage-gate processes, accurate forecasting, and prioritization of opportunities aligned with company strategy.
  • Bid & Proposal Process Management: Develop and manage standardized bid/no-bid frameworks, coordinate cross-functional inputs for proposals, and ensure timely execution of commercial bidding activities.
  • Asset Opportunity Evaluation: Lead financial and strategic evaluation of asset acquisitions, leasing opportunities, and MRO service agreements through robust analytical frameworks.
  • Financial Modeling & Business Case Development: Build and maintain detailed financial models to support asset investment decisions, contract bids, and long-term asset lifecycle strategies.
  • Commercial Portfolio Performance Management: Monitor and analyze the performance of the commercial portfolio, providing visibility into revenue, margins, win rates, utilization, and asset returns.
  • Executive Reporting & KPI Dashboards: Design and maintain dashboards and reporting tools that track commercial KPIs and portfolio performance for senior leadership and executive reviews.
  • Asset Lifecycle Strategy Support: Support the development and implementation of lifecycle strategies for engines, components, or other assets across acquisition, deployment, service, and exit phases.
  • Commercial Decision Support: Provide analytical support to leadership on strategic opportunities, including market entry decisions, major bids, partnerships, and asset investment strategies.
  • Sales & Commercial Process Optimization: Develop tools, templates, and operational frameworks that improve efficiency and consistency across commercial, bid, and opportunity evaluation processes.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with finance, technical operations, asset management, and sales teams to ensure accurate data inputs, aligned assumptions, and coordinated execution of commercial initiatives.
  • Market & Competitive Analysis: Conduct market intelligence and competitive benchmarking to support pricing strategies, commercial positioning, and asset investment decisions.
  • Continuous Improvement of Commercial Systems: Identify opportunities to enhance data infrastructure, analytical capabilities, and reporting platforms supporting commercial portfolio management.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in aviation, aerospace, asset management, infrastructure, or commercial strategy roles.
  • 3+ years of experience in financial modeling and analysis, including evaluating investments or service contracts. 

  • 2+ years of experience supporting bid processes, pipeline management, or portfolio analysis. 

  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., formulas, pivot tables); experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) preferred. 

  • Experience analyzing data and creating reports or presentations to support business decisions. 

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams (e.g., finance, commercial, operations) in a professional setting. 

Preferred Experience

  • Experience within aviation MRO, engine leasing, asset trading, or aerospace services.

  • Familiarity with engine or component lifecycle economics and maintenance program structures.

  • Exposure to private equity-backed or asset-intensive businesses.
