Job Details

Role Purpose

The Engineering Manager leads, manages, and oversees the engineering team responsible for developing and maintaining the company's Enterprise Resource Planning system (Applicom) and integrations to internal Warehouse Management System (WMS) and integrations to external Clients systems. The primary goal is to ensure efficient delivery of high-quality integration solutions. You will manage several teams of engineers, overseeing project requirements, task delegation, and ensuring excellence in project deliveries.

This is a critical leadership role that spans coaching, product and engineering best practices, tooling, process measurement, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver business value efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

Delivery & Operational Excellence

• Accountable for engineering delivery outcomes across ERP, integration platforms, and WMS-facing services.

• Owns engineering delivery standards, technical quality gates, and release readiness.

• Ownership and management of the development toolset for TSFM teams

• Accountable for team capacity planning, delivery predictability, and technical risk management working with the project delivery team.

• Oversee the customization of Azure DevOps work items (Epics, Features, User Stories, and work with Test team to ensure integration with Qtest) to align with organizational processes.

• Align delivery objectives with OKRs (Objectives and Key Results), ensuring transparency and measurable outcomes.

• Collaborate with Business Analysis, Pre-sales Consultants, Solution Architecture, Technical teams, Quality & Test and Service teams.

Stakeholder & Customer Impact

• Supports pre‑sales and solution shaping activities with credible delivery input and risk assessment.

• Ensures engineering decisions consider commercial impact, operational cost, and customer experience.

• Acts as a senior engineering representative with internal and external stakeholders, including clients and partners.

Engineering & Technical Leadership

• Define and implement engineering best practices, including peer review, test-driven development, code repositories, pipelines and work with test team on defects.

• Foster technology innovation and prototyping in collaboration with product teams to drive growth and explore new opportunities using AI capabilities.

• Standardize and oversee the end-to-end delivery process, from intake to business value realisation.

• Oversee the delivery pipeline, ensuring efficient workflows through agreed toolsets for IT practice.

• Define, lead, and embed a standardized Agile delivery framework across the organization. ·

• Drive adoption of Agile principles and practices, ensuring alignment with business values, outcomes, and value streams. ·

• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation across all teams. ·

• Work with the Cencora Agile Transformation team to deliver relevant Agile training to Alloga team members over time.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

• Enterprise middleware technology experience for 3PL/4PL in pharmaceutical, wholesale and/or logistics industry

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years in a leadership or management role.

• Experience in leading, managing, and scaling engineering teams.

• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of engineers. Strong interpersonal and team-building skills.

• Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively liaising between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of addressing technical, personnel, and project-related challenges.

• Experience working with Applicom ERP, Opentext ECS & Delta and Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC)

• Working for a large multinational matrix organisation

• Fostering collaboration to align teams to common ways of working

• Experience of implementing and working with observability platforms such as New Relic
